This is probably the best trick to get gold in Soul Calibur IV. Heck, if you have the patience of a 5-year old (like me), it’s pretty much the only way.
Mind you, this is IN NO WAY a cheat or hack. It’s just a nifty little trick Namco apparently oversaw before releasing the game. You can also consider this a guide to easily defeating the boss on the 60th floor of The Tower of Lost Souls.
But hey, if you got this far, I bet you can beat him legitly 
I know I did, in order to get the 60th floor achievement.

Oh man, how many times I’ve sweared on floors 57-59 because they just wouldn’t WORK, lol. I can’t remember ever getting so frustrated at a game as I did right there and then. I used Astaroth low sweeps to cheap my way out of it and it usually does the trick pretty well, unless Nightmare decides to be an hole and starts doing just impacts.

not the easiest… time concuming really, time it takes to get to floor 60 and then repeating floor 60 takes way to long…
you only need about 2 million gold to buy everything, by the time i was done getting achievements in story mode i had over 3 million gold… though i rarly ever go below grade S which earns 16000… that alone took me half as much time just getting to floor 60… by the time i got the towers new gaurdian achievement i already had the rest (tng being my last one)

Hmm, yeah, but they’re not as likely to block that attack I think. Forward + YY is a pretty slow combo, so usually the computer will anticipate that one. I got it all recorded and I’ll post a better vid soon, I just gotta find some rewritable DVDs now, cuz this one isn’t working

My theory is that spamming his front, B, B attack is very useful for completing levels as well, but it’s mostly a great way to get Critical Finishes quickly. I just got the soul crush and critical finish achievement today in the matter of an hour or something, and I didn’t even boost it online.

Well, there really isn’t a sure-fire way to get through the tower, you’re going to need skill for that.
A good cheap way to try and make it through most levels would be to equip skills like Shave Damage A or Venom Fang A on Kilik and abuse his forward + A+B 5 poke combo attack. It does the trick pretty well. Another idea would be to spam Astaroth’s low sleeps, which are usually very effective.
There might be a way of using Yun-Seong for some cheap wins, but I haven’t tested that yet.
